First Division: Ezequiel Medrán calls for calm: "We mustn't tear down everything we've built."

The Gimnasia y Esgrima coach analyzed the defeat that ended their home unbeaten streak and acknowledged that the team was disorganized in the second half. "We have to keep growing," he emphasized.
Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza suffered a tough home defeat to Temperley and lost its unbeaten record at the Víctor Legrotaglie stadium. El Lobo was defeated by the same opponent that had last beaten them last October, in a match where they displayed one of their weakest second-half performances.
With this fall, the team led by Ezequiel Medrán dropped to third place in Zone B of the Primera Nacional , although it remains in a leading position, just three points behind leader Gimnasia de Jujuy and with the same number of points as Chacarita, which now occupies second place by goal difference.
Gimnasia started the match well and dominated possession throughout the first half, creating some clear scoring opportunities. However, their eagerness to score and open the scoring worked against them, and they failed to capitalize on their opportunities. Defensively, the team looked solid, but a single play gave Temperley the lead: a precise cross and a precise header from Brandán broke the deadlock.
In the second half, Lobo lacked offensive clarity. Despite having more will than play, they were unable to reverse the result. Temperley, on the other hand, retreated, were effective, and took advantage of their moment to take a resounding victory on the pitch.

After the match, coach Ezequiel Medrán expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's performance, although he supported the squad: "We were far from our best, but this team has had a great season. We remain in the spotlight and still have a game pending against Morón," he stated.
Medrán also analyzed the key points of the defeat : "In the first half, we had possession and created chances, but anxiety made us take the wrong paths. Afterward, it was more willpower than football. We couldn't find a way to turn the game around, and it's a defeat that hurts."
The coach acknowledged that the poor performance of some players could be linked to the physical and mental exhaustion of a demanding season, which could lead him to make changes in the next match, where Los Lobos will visit Colón. "It's premature to analyze it, but in a long tournament, it's normal to have individual and collective slumps . The team won 10 matches, drew 10, and lost only 2. Beyond this decline, we must focus on what needs to be corrected without destroying everything we've built."

He also addressed the team's frustration on the field at times: " Sometimes we can't find that fluidity in the game. Emotions play a role, and when an opponent pushes back, if you rush, you can't find the right path. That's what happened to us in the second half," the coach said.
What's comingGimnasia remains in the fight for promotion and knows the margin for error is getting smaller. With a competitive squad and a defined game plan, they'll look to recover quickly when they face Colón next week.
The objective remains intact.
